It is no coincidence that Glowinface Face Yoga programs have their roots in eastern health practices.
If you observe Western and Eastern medicine you can quickly notice that they have quite different aspects when it comes to aging. Because Face Yoga promotes natural aging and uses non invasive techniques to look and feel rejuvenated it connects closely to the ancient teachings and practices of the East.
Where western medicine tries to combat the consequences without asking for the cause, the eastern medicine practitioners take time to observe your physical appearance, muscle tone, and the quality of your skin as a reflection of the health inside your body. Let’s explore it a little bit further:
WHAT IS FACE MAPPING?
Your face reflects your emotions, feelings AND much more! It is a map pointing showing you what’s happening deep inside with your organs – you just need to learn how to read it!
Face mapping is one of the oldest tools in Chinese medicine that helps to diagnose overall balance and health by just observing unique features on the face.
The face is always showing the energetic levels of the organs – and points to imbalance long before the real disease takes place. Observing and getting to know yourself is the key to create health and well-being in the body.
Blood and Qi (life energy) surge through your organs in a complex network of “highways” known as Meridians that go all the way from the top of your head through your face all the way down to your toes. Along the meridians we can find acupressure points which indicate the state of the particular organ and serve as “buttons” which help us stimulate and balance by pressing them.
With Face Yoga exercises we are stimulating these acupressure points every time we put pressure on the muscles with our hands.
WHAT IS FIVE ELEMENT THEORY?
Five Element theory is one of the major systems of thought within traditional Chinese medicine. Also referred to as the “five phase” theory by some practitioners, Five Element theory has been used for more than 2,000 years as a method of diagnosis and treatment. How Does Five Element Theory Work?
Essentially, Five Element theory is used to help explain the cause of particular disbalances in the body, and to associate signs or symptoms to particular organs and afflictions. In the context of “phases,” Five Element theory helps to explain the processes that are occurring the body throughout various stages of disease and healing. This is particularly useful in explaining the processes during what we call generating and controlling cycles.
The 5 element theory from Chinese medicine plays a big role in face mapping and face yoga. Each element is linked to one dominant organ and one complementary organ (example: element: wood, dominant organ: liver, complementary organ: gallbladder). Both significantly impact each other and our processes in the body. If one organ is stronger or weaker that causes imbalance which can show up as pimples, blemishes and discoloration on our faces.
That’s what essentially helps us read different parts of the face and determine the current, past and future state of the organs. Face characteristics (wrinkles, shape, tone, structure) also point to the character traits of the person.
