I am a perfectionist. I want things to get done. Not today, not tomorrow…yesterday! And they have to be done perfectly.
This is me and my way of thinking since I was a little girl. I never expected the people around me to be perfect. I expected that from myself and everything I was doing.
It all started when I was five years old and started dancing ballet. I dreamed of becoming a “prima ballerina” and being unforgettable on stage. I wanted my performance to be perfect; “I” wanted to be perfect.
So naturally, practices quickly escalated from 2 to 5 per week, and I continued like that for nine years. When I was around 16, I tried every single diet there was to stay thin. There are certain beauty ideals surrounding ballerinas; they are skinny, graceful and mysterious. It was all I wanted to be too, but my in puberty my body and hormones fell out of balance.
My body was desperately lacking proper nutrition and most importantly good fats. But I kept going, relentlessly chasing my dancing dream, eventually changing my ballet career for belly dance and Zumba.
I fell in love with Zumba so much that I decided to do an instructor training. At the age of 18, I started teaching classes, but my perfectionism got the best of me. While I did love my job, I also wanted to finish law school and combined with Zumba classes five times a week proved to be too stressful for my body.
With my strict food restrictions, my body soon broke down under too much pressure and stress. I suffered my first complete “burn out” in my early twenties. I also got diagnosed with PCOS and thyroid dysfunction. My hormones were a mess. I didn’t have any energy, my skin was unclear, I was gaining weight all the time, and I was miserable.
Even though I was on a “healthy salad” diet and constantly working out my body was out of control. That’s when I realized I need to find a solution if I want to feel better.
I first attended a Face Yoga weekend course with my mom after I read about all the benefits it brings. Once I started learning more about the subject, suddenly everything made sense to me. With improved circulation to muscles, brain, and glands I could return my body to a healthy, balanced state of being.
Those two days of Face Yoga course were life-changing for me. I started practicing daily, and I could feel the improvements in my well-being right after I did my workout. I could sleep like a baby again, and after doing three exercises each morning, I felt energized for the rest of the day.
After a few weeks my face was more toned, and after a month my skin started to clear, and the color returned to my face. We also started noticing significant improvements with my mom who was in her fifties at that time and battling her own health issues. (I will dedicate a whole blog post about her transformation too *.*)
Besides doing Face Yoga, I also started to look at health and well-being from an entirely different angle. I changed my diet, thoughts, and the perception of “perfection.”
Oh, what a relief!
This was a sign big enough for me to start my own Face Yoga journey and spread the healing powers of it all around the world. I started by doing a lot of courses, not only about Face Yoga but also about Chinese medicine, face diagnosis, and therapeutic yoga. For the first time, I was able to connect all the dots.
Since then, I have had more than 800 people on my live courses which I thought in Slovenia, United States, Belgium, and Croatia. Right now I’m on a mission to spread the power of Face Yoga to Italy in collaboration with Marzia Clinic. I created a unique program for their beauticians, which will soon start implementing exercises in their treatments.
After seeing so many incredible transformations with my own eyes, I knew it’s time to go a step further. I explored new ways of teaching and created new techniques that bring even faster and better results.
I wanted to share it with the world, so I created a 5-week online facial workout in video form, so people all around the world could reap the benefits of Face Yoga.
And I’m not stopping here. My goal is to make Face Yoga mainstream in all corners of the world because it’s more important than ever for people to focus on well-being, health, and self-love.
I also decided to start writing a blog to help you get even better results with tips on skincare, nutrition, and holistic healing. Everything is connected. Take care of your body on the inside, and soon you will start shining on the outside too.
I’m incredibly grateful to be on this beautiful journey with you and help you discover a new, and better way of living.
